Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a collection of early 20th-century stereoscopic cards and a miniature decorative violin. The stereoscopic cards were published by Underwood & Underwood, with studios in Arlington, New Jersey, and Littleton, New Hampshire. Dating to approximately 1901-1902, the cards feature dual photographic images intended for three-dimensional viewing. The collection includes documentary subjects such as the 1902 volcanic eruption of Mount Pelee in Martinique and a portrait of United States President William McKinley. The cards are marked with the publisher’s international offices in New York, London, Toronto, and Ottawa. The miniature ornamental violin is a scaled-down model, frequently produced as a Mozart decoration, featuring a varnished body, four strings, a bridge, and a carved scroll. It is housed in a shaped black hardshell case with a red plush-lined interior and metal latches.

Violin length approximately: 18 cm.
