Lot 553: Two pieces of Caithness art glass including a bud vase and a decorative paperweight
This lot comprises two pieces of contemporary Caithness studio art glass. The first is a small blown glass bud vase. The vase features a globular form with a widely flared rim, made from translucent pink glass with internal opaque white mottled decoration. The second item is a solid glass paperweight of ovoid form. It consists of a clear glass casing over internal polychrome swirls in shades of pink, green, and purple. The base of the interior decoration contains a dense, textured layer of silver-coloured metallic inclusions, a technique characteristic of the Sea and Sand decorative ranges associated with Michael Harris.
Vase height: approximately 8cm – 10cm
Paperweight height: approximately 8cm – 10cm.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good auctionable condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant surface wear.
