A collection of hardcover volumes published by The Folio Society, London, featuring a variety of classical and historical literature. The titles included are The Golden Ass by Apuleius, The Young King and Other Stories by Oscar Wilde, Sappho by Alphonse Daudet, Louis XIV at Versailles by Saint-Simon, Eugenie Grandet by Honore de Balzac, Memoirs of Madame Du Barry, Restoration Carnival, The Discovery of Tahiti by George Robertson, The Canterbury Tales (Volumes I and II) by Geoffrey Chaucer, The Galley Slave by Jean Marteilhe, Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, Salome by Oscar Wilde, Vie de Boheme by Henry Murger, and Eastern Love Poems. Each volume is produced in an octavo format and is bound in the publisher’s original decorative cloth. The bindings feature various colours with gilt or printed designs and lettering to the spines and front boards. A notable decorative feature is the stamped equestrian design on the front board of The Young King.
