Lot 894: An early 20th-century Jacobean Revival style oak side table with barley-twist legs
A comprehensive dinner and tea service comprising approximately 70 pieces by Poole Pottery, England, in the Summer Glory pattern. The service is manufactured from a cream-coloured earthenware designed for oven-to-table use. The decoration features a transfer-printed autumnal floral spray composed of poppies, daisies, and ears of wheat in a palette of burnt orange, brown, yellow, and pale blue. The plates and bowls are characterised by a moulded wavy or scalloped rim. The collection includes an assortment of dinner plates, dessert or salad plates, side plates, saucers, cereal or dessert bowls, tea or coffee cups, an oval serving dish, a gravy boat and stand, a milk or cream jug, a pair of salt and pepper shakers, and additional nesting bowls. Most items bear a brown backstamp to the base with the pattern name Summer Glory, a stylized dolphin symbol, Poole, England, oven to tableware, and microwave and dishwasher safe.
