Lot 895: A 1970s Mid-Century Modern Style Ceramic Tiled-Top Coffee Table
A group of framed artworks comprising watercolours and decorative needlepoint pieces. The primary work is a watercolour on paper by the Devon artist D.M. Heath, depicting a black feral goat amongst the limestone crags of the Valley of the Rocks, Lynton. The piece is executed in a figurative, illustrative style with clean washes and is signed twice: upper right D M HEATH and lower right VALLEY OF THE ROCKS LYNTON D.M. HEATH. It is housed in a contemporary light wood frame with a cream-coloured mount. Also included is a coastal watercolour signed P. ELLIS at the upper left, presented in a gilt frame with a blue mount. A further watercolour depicts a Mediterranean-style building with terracotta roof tiles, signed D. Mitchell at the upper right and housed in a dark wood frame. Completing the group are floral needlepoint pieces depicting roses in yellow and pink tones, each set within a green-stained wooden frame.
