Lot 902: A Collection of Clear Pressed Glass Tableware
A Regency style mahogany veneered sofa table of traditional form. The rectangular top features twin drop-leaf ends with rounded corners, decorated with a wide crossbanded border and a fine dark wood inlaid stringing line. The table is supported by a twin pedestal base, with each flat upright support featuring a decorative turned roundel. Each pedestal terminates in two splayed legs with brass-capped feet, and the base is joined by a central horizontal stretcher. The drop-leaf ends are supported by wooden swing-out lopers housed within the frieze. This piece is a mid-to-late 20th-century reproduction of a 19th-century design.
