Lot 148: An Edwardian Sterling Silver Pill Box by Adie and Lovekin Ltd, Birmingham 1901
An Edwardian sterling silver circular pill box of hinged form. The lid is decorated in high relief repoussé with a pattern of scrolling foliage and C-scrolls, centred by a polished circular boss. The base of the box features a crimped or fluted rim, and the interior retains a wash-gilt finish. The interior base is struck with hallmarks for the maker Adie and Lovekin Ltd, the Birmingham anchor town mark, the lion passant standard mark, and the date letter b for 1901.
