A pair of George V sterling silver thimbles manufactured by the prominent makers Henry Griffith and Sons, both hallmarked for the year 1925.

The first and smaller thimble features an embossed overall pattern of dense daisy floral heads. It is stamped along the polished rim with the following hallmarks: the maker mark H.G.and.S within a rectangular punch with rounded corners, an anchor symbol representing the Birmingham Assay Office, a lion passant standard mark for sterling silver, and the uppercase date letter A within a pointed shield.

The second and larger thimble features an embossed overall geometric starburst pattern. It is stamped along the polished rim with the following hallmarks: the maker mark H.G.and.S within a rectangular punch, three wheat sheaves and a sword representing the Chester Assay Office, a lion passant standard mark for sterling silver, the uppercase date letter Z within a pointed shield, and a separate size mark containing the numerals 18 in an oval punch. This thimble exhibits a warm golden-hued tarnish to the exterior.
