Lot 17: An Assortment of Silver Plated Sugar and Ice Tongs
A collection of silver plated sugar and ice tongs featuring two distinct styles. The group includes three pairs of spring-action tongs with terminals modelled as bird claws. One of these claw-form pairs is decorated with bright-cut foliate and scroll engraving on the shoulders and bow, while the other two pairs feature plain bows. The collection also includes one pair in the classic Fiddle pattern style, characterised by a flat bow and ovoid, spoon-shaped terminals. Small, recessed marks are visible on the interior and exterior of the bows across the assortment, but these are not clearly legible for specific identification of a maker or date.
