Lot 48: A Collection of Late Victorian and Edwardian Fish and Dessert Flatware with Sterling Silver Collars and Silver-Plated Blades
An assortment of individual and serving flatware pieces featuring engraved decoration. The collection includes fish knives and forks with yellowish ivorine handles, a fish serving set comprising a large knife and fork with iridescent mother-of-pearl handles, two small scalloped serving spoons with mother-of-pearl handles, and a two-tine pickle or condiment fork with a mother-of-pearl handle. The metal components, including the blades, tines, and spoon bowls, are silver-plated and decorated with bright-cut floral and scroll engravings. The pieces are constructed with silver ferrules joining the handles to the metal heads, with many clearly stamped STERLING. No maker’s marks or traditional British hallmarks are visible on the silver-plated sections.
