Lot 76: A Pair of Edwardian Sterling Silver Acorn Form Salt and Pepper Shakers by Crisford and Norris
A pair of hallmarked sterling silver individual shakers designed in the form of acorns with a plain polished finish. Each shaker comprises two sections with a rounded base and a tapering, perforated screw-top or pull-off cover. The items are presented in their original black leatherette-covered presentation case featuring a cream silk-lined lid and a purple velvet-lined base. Both shakers bear a clear set of British hallmarks on the base for the maker Crisford and Norris (C&N), the Birmingham Assay Office (anchor symbol), sterling silver (lion passant), and the date letter b for 1901.
