Lot 57: Late 19th or early 20th-century hammered brass helmet-shaped coal scuttle
A brass coal scuttle of traditional helmet form, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece is constructed with a hand-hammered martelé textured body, featuring a rolled rim and a flared circular pedestal base. It is equipped with a large fixed overhead bail handle and a smaller fixed loop handle at the rear, both of which are riveted to the main body. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are present on the base or body. A modern paper lot label from HCP Auctions South West is currently attached to the exterior.
