Lot 592: Mid-20th Century Ruffled Glass Basket with Applied Handle and Pedestal Base
A decorative glass basket featuring a tall, arched, applied handle. The piece is constructed from clear glass which exhibits a pale green or aquamarine tint, most noticeable in the thicker sections of the handle and base. The body is characterised by a vertical ribbed pattern and finished with a deeply ruffled or crimped rim. The basket is supported by a short, moulded pedestal base with a radiating ribbed design. No permanent maker marks, signatures, or embossed stamps are visible on the glass body or underside. A small, contemporary rectangular white adhesive label with the printed black digits 692 is present on the side. The style and construction are consistent with mid-20th-century decorative pressed glass produced by various glassworks.
