Lot 598: A Collection of Vintage and Antique Treen Sewing Accessories, an Oriental-style Folding Fan, and Domestic Textiles
A group of vintage and antique domestic items and accessories. The collection includes a turned wooden spool carousel, or treen thread holder, featuring a tiered central column with a rounded finial and multiple vertical pegs. The pegs hold various wooden and plastic spools of thread in colours including pink, green, blue, yellow, and grey. Also present are two wooden darning tools, including a darning egg and a mushroom-style darner. The lot includes an Oriental-style folding fan featuring a decorated leaf with floral motifs and columns of characters, mounted on wooden or bamboo guards and sticks. Additional items comprise a circular brass-framed object, possibly a small mirror or desk accessory, and sections of white lace and crocheted textiles. The items are housed in a black cardboard storage box.
