Lot 812: A late 20th-century stained wood 31-day wall clock
A mechanical 31-day wall clock featuring a rectangular dark-stained wooden case. The case is detailed with carved floral scrolls to the sides and shaped pediments at the top and bottom. The glazed door houses a circular brass-tone dial with a foliate-patterned centre and black Roman numeral markers. The dial is inscribed with the text 31 DAY and contains two winding arbors for the twin-train, spring-driven movement, which typically strikes on the hour and half-hour. The lower portion of the glazed door is decorated with a black and gold-tone silkscreened geometric lattice and floral border, revealing a brass-tone pendulum behind. This style of regulator clock was commonly produced in East Asia and imported during the late 20th century.
