A George III style mahogany serpentine-front chest of drawers, likely of 20th-century manufacture. The chest features a moulded top that follows the serpentine line of the front, positioned over four long graduated drawers. The top and drawer fronts are faced with highly figured, book-matched flame mahogany veneers. The unit is fitted with brass swan-neck handles on decorative shaped backplates and is supported on four bracket feet. The interior of the top drawer reveals a light-toned secondary wood, possibly oak or beech, with clean joinery. A white rectangular auction lot sticker is present on the top right, reading HCP Auctions South West Lot 814. A smaller adhesive paper tag is also affixed to the top right with handwritten characters 9329 and R20. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the exterior or the interior of the opened drawer.
