Lot 819: Two Decorative Items comprising an Attributed Carl Block Terracotta Figural Vessel and a Modern LED Light
This lot features two decorative objects, including a hand-modelled and painted terracotta figural vessel attributed to the style of Carl Block of Flatland Pottery. The whimsical vessel is shaped as a character with a prominent, heavily textured white beard, a long pink nose, and a wide red-painted mouth. The tapering neck of the vessel is decorated with a blue and yellow patterned hat. The bulbous body includes moulded hands and a small painted landscape vignette. The interior shows an unglazed, reddish-brown clay body with visible building marks. The second item is a modern battery-operated LED light designed in a tiered conical shape resembling a tree, finished in a translucent pale sage green. The white plastic base contains a three-way switch for Off, Timer, and On, and specifies the use of two AA 1.5V batteries. The base is marked Made in China.
