Lot 81: A Maltese Miniature Art Glass Christmas Tree with Ornaments
A decorative miniature Christmas tree crafted from translucent cobalt blue glass, identified as Maltese art glass by the label on the base. The piece is constructed using lampworking techniques, featuring a central trunk with multiple tiers of branches, each terminating in a small integral glass hook. A solid yellow glass five-pointed star is fused to the top of the tree. The lot includes an assortment of small, hand-formed glass ornaments in various colours, including red, white, green, and clear with internal bubble inclusions. The tree stands upon a flat, circular cobalt blue glass base. The underside of the base retains an original circular white paper label featuring a black Maltese cross symbol, with the text GLASS curved at the top and HAND MADE curved at the bottom.
