Lot 448: A Collection of Assorted Metalware and Domestic Items Including a Pair of Copper Candlesticks and Edwardian Sugar Tongs
A collection of miscellaneous metalware and domestic objects. The group comprises a brass chamberstick with a looped handle; a pair of small copper and brass candlesticks; a large metal scoop with a cream-coloured handle; a cylindrical metal lidded canister with incised lettering including the date 2000; a crescent-shaped silver-coloured metal dish; and a small metal tankard containing a spoon and a pair of sugar tongs. The lot includes a handwritten provenance tag for the sugar tongs, identifying them as a wedding gift for Anne Priscilla Peach and Ernest Radbourne from their jeweller, dated 26 December 1901. Materials include brass, copper, and silver-plated base metals.
