Lot 466: A Collection of Five Glass and Crystal Elephant Figurines
This lot comprises five figurines of elephants in various poses, crafted from clear glass and crystal. The collection includes one medium-sized crystal elephant bearing a circular blue and white maker’s label for Lenox Fine Crystal. A second medium-sized lead crystal elephant is mounted on a rectangular mirrored glass plinth and features a blue and gold scalloped label for Bohemia Crystal, produced in the Czech Republic with a lead oxide content exceeding 24 per cent. The remaining items include one large, solid clear glass elephant with a raised trunk and two smaller clear glass elephants. One of the smaller pieces features lampworked details, including small, coloured accents for the eyes. All pieces are depicted in standing positions, most with trunks raised.
