Lot 560: A Collection of Brass and Copper Decorative and Domestic Metalware
A collection of brass and copper decorative and domestic metalware. The lot includes two brass vases with flared rims and bulbous bodies, featuring incised horizontal banding and floral motifs. There are two brass cribbage boards mounted on dark wood bases. A pair of fire bellows is present, featuring a brass repoussé front plate depicting a tavern scene, complete with wooden handles and a brass nozzle. Militaria includes two brass artillery shell cases. Two brass decorative chargers or plates feature embossed repoussé scenes, one depicting a tavern interior and the other a village street with a windmill. The hollowware comprises a hammered copper bowl with a brass rim, a smaller brass vessel with horizontal ribbed decoration and a visible vertical seam, and a small cast brass cat-mask ornament. Several items bear auction labels from HCP Auctions South West for lot 560.
