Lot 860: A Scalextric Champion Tourers BTCC Slot Car Racing Set
A Scalextric (Hornby Hobbies Ltd) 1:32 scale slot car racing set titled Champion Tourers, themed after the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The set includes two vehicles: a yellow number 2 Renault Laguna in Alain Menu livery with Elf and Carin sponsorship, and a silver number 1 Audi A4 Quattro in Frank Biela livery with Castrol and Auto Trader branding. The contents comprise multiple black plastic track sections designed for a figure-of-eight circuit (Circuit 3), sand-coloured track borders with red and white rumble strip kerbing, a red mechanical twin-dial lap counter, two hand controllers, a mains power transformer, and grey plastic bridge supports. Original documentation is present, including the instruction manual for Circuit 3 and various promotional leaflets. The set is housed in its original illustrated cardboard box with a polystyrene inner tray. Box dimensions indicate a track layout area of approximately 170cm by 290cm.
