Lot 1032: Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel Single Drive
An Ashford Traditional single drive spinning wheel of Saxony-style horizontal design. The piece is constructed from polished hardwood with a lustrous reddish-brown finish. The ten-spoke drive wheel is mounted on a slanted frame and connected via a white cord drive band to a flyer assembly. This assembly includes a wooden bobbin and a series of brass hooks for guiding the yarn. The unit is supported by a single treadle base. A paper auction tag is present on the wheel face with the text NCP Auctions South West, Lot 1032, and 46685. A small amount of white wool remains on the bobbin.
