Lot 1085: A Large Late 19th Century Mahogany Renaissance Revival Style Wardrobe
A substantial late 19th century mahogany wardrobe designed in the Renaissance Revival style. The piece features two main doors with prominent square panels containing deeply carved foliate and floral medallions, set within moulded borders. These panels are flanked by further decorative carving to the stiles. The interior is divided and fitted with brass hanging rails and metal hooks. The construction is in solid mahogany, typical of high quality Victorian bedroom furniture. The item is currently in a disassembled state, with components such as the cornice and plinth detached from the main carcase. No maker marks or labels are visible. Two auction lot tags are present with the numbers 942 and 1085.
