Lot 730: A Collection of Portmeirion Botanic Garden Earthenware Mugs, Saucers, and Lidded Jar
A collection of Portmeirion glazed earthenware pieces in the Botanic Garden pattern, designed by Susan Williams-Ellis. The group consists of several drum-shaped mugs, a lidded preserve or honey jar, and a stack of saucers. Each piece features transfer-printed botanical illustrations accompanied by various insects including butterflies and bees. The rims are decorated with the characteristic green triple-leaf border motif. Visible botanical specimens include Heartsease (Viola tricolor) on the lidded jar and Forget-me-not (Myosotis palustris) on the mugs, with the plant names printed in a script font below the designs.
