Lot 732: A Collection of UK and World Coins and Tokens in a Vintage Old Holborn Tobacco Tin
A collection of British and international coins and tokens dating from the late 19th to mid-20th century. The group includes a Guernsey 8 doubles copper coin dated 1889 with a central denomination within a wreath. Several British regal bronze pennies and halfpennies from the reigns of George V and George VI are included, featuring royal portraits and seated Britannia reverse designs. The assembly also contains holed copper-nickel coins, including French colonial examples bearing partial Republique Française inscriptions. The coins are contained within a rectangular metal tobacco tin featuring a hinged lid. The interior lid is printed with the Old Holborn brand name in blackletter script, with Blended Virginia and for Cigarette or Pipe. A paper auction label for HCP Auctions South West, Lot 732, is affixed to the interior lid.
