Lot 754: A Set of Japanese Eggshell Porcelain Lithophane Tea Cups and Saucers
A set of Japanese eggshell porcelain tea cups and saucers. Each piece is finished with a matte black exterior and a white glazed interior. The decoration features gilt-printed landscape scenes including pagodas, pine trees, mountains, and birds in flight. On the saucers, the Japanese Katakana characters “カ” and “ナ” are integrated into the lower portion of the design. The porcelain is thin and translucent, typical of mid-20th-century Japanese export production. No maker marks are visible on the bases.
