Lot 826: Brutalist Style Oak Side Cabinet with Faux Drawer Front
A mid-twentieth century oak side cabinet, designed with a trompe l’oeil door front to simulate a four-drawer chest. The single cupboard door is hinged on the left and is divided by three horizontal wooden mouldings to create the appearance of four separate drawers. The door is embellished with twelve raised, diamond-shaped wooden bosses and two central, square-form wooden pull handles. The cabinet is constructed from solid oak with a visible grain, featuring pine or deal secondary timber for the interior backboards and internal vertical partition. The interior is split into two upright compartments, suitable for the storage of records or sheet music. The piece is supported on four metal casters. An auction house sticker is visible to the top right corner.
