Lot 861: William IV Flame Mahogany Pedestal Sideboard and Footstool
A William IV flame mahogany pedestal sideboard accompanied by a leather-upholstered footstool. The sideboard features a breakfront design with a central frieze drawer situated above a recessed kneehole area, flanked by two pedestal cupboards. The exterior is finished in highly figured flame mahogany veneers. Decorative elements include gadrooned (rope-twist) mouldings at the base of each pedestal, which are supported by turned bun feet. The right-hand pedestal cupboard opens to reveal a single fixed wooden shelf. The central drawer has a plain timber lining. Note that the piece is currently without external drawer pulls or door handles. The matching rectangular footstool has a brown leather top secured with brass studding and is raised on four short turned legs.
