Lot 562: A Collection of Blue and White Willow Pattern and Figurative Ceramic Wares
A collection of blue and white ceramic items featuring traditional oriental-style decoration. The group includes a globular teapot with a matching lid, a teacup with a scalloped rim, and a matching saucer. These three pieces are decorated with a version of the popular Blue Willow transfer-printed pattern, which includes the characteristic bridge, pagoda, and willow tree motifs. These items are constructed from glazed earthenware. The collection also includes a square-form tea caddy with a circular lid, decorated with figurative scenes depicting a woman and child in a domestic garden and interior setting. The tea caddy appears to be made from a finer ceramic body, possibly porcelain or fine earthenware. No maker’s marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on any of the pieces.
