Lot 698: A Waterman Hemisphere Gold-Plated Pen Set and a Framed Nautical Knot Display
This lot consists of a two-piece writing instrument set and a decorative maritime shadowbox. The writing set is a Waterman Paris Hemisphere model featuring a fountain pen and a retractable ballpoint pen. Both instruments are finished in a gold-plated metal with a classic barleycorn guilloche engine-turned pattern across the caps and barrels. The fountain pen is a cartridge filler and is accompanied by a single blue ink cartridge. The set is presented in its original navy blue faux-leather case with a cream satin-effect and velvet-style interior lining. The second item is a nautical-themed framed display featuring thirteen miniature cord knots and a central red and white lifebuoy mounted on a blue background. The knots are individually identified with printed French labels, including Noeud de Chaise, Noeud de Pecheur, Noeud Plat, Noeud de Bois, and Carrick. The display is housed in a dark blue painted wooden frame with a white inner slip. A handwritten auction tag numbered 1080 is adhered to the glass.
