Lot 714: A Vintage Money Box and An Assortment of Pre-Decimal British and Irish Coinage
A rectangular tinplate money box of still bank form, finished in black paint with red and gold-tone pinstripe borders to the lid. The lid is fitted with a central longitudinal coin slot and a folding metal wire handle. Internally, the lid features two metal clips. The box contains an assortment of pre-decimal coinage, including British bronze pennies and halfpennies featuring the portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, brass dodecagonal threepence coins, and an Irish 1948 coin featuring a harp. A white adhesive label with the handwritten number 1080 is applied to the exterior lid.
