Lot 724: An Assortment of Middle Eastern Etched Brassware Including Dallah Pots and Aftaba Ewer
An assortment of Middle Eastern decorative brassware featuring hand-chased and etched ornamentation throughout. The collection includes two Dallah coffee pots of different heights, both designed with characteristic curved spouts and hinged, peaked lids topped with finials. A tall, slender Aftaba ewer features a long, elegant curved handle and a domed lid, decorated with bands of geometric and foliate patterns. A set of footed goblets is embellished with chased circular cartouches and solar motifs. The lot also contains a large circular presentation tray with a slightly raised rim, decorated with concentric bands of scrolling and geometric patterns. A trio of decorative bowls is included, showing high-relief chasing with foliate designs that retain traces of red and green pigment within the recessed areas. Two turned brass candlesticks with stepped bases complete the collection. A white auction tag marked Lot 724 and a handwritten note identifying the set are present. A small, illegible green sticker is attached to the body of one Dallah pot.
