Lot 741: A Collection of Harlequin Porcelain Demitasse Coffee Ware and Mid-Century Modern Style Stoneware Cups and Saucers
A collection of ceramic cups and saucers comprising two distinct sets. The first set consists of porcelain demitasse cups and matching saucers, each pair finished in a different vibrant solid colour glaze: cobalt blue, magenta, scarlet red, and iridescent pale blue. These small, straight-sided cups feature white interiors and are accented with gold-toned loop handles and gilt rims.
The second set consists of stoneware cups and matching saucers in a mid-century modern aesthetic. Each piece is finished in a cream-coloured glossy glaze. The cups feature a fluted or ribbed exterior body with a D-shaped handle. The decoration consists of a horizontal band featuring three wavy lines in dark grey, olive green, and reddish-brown tones. The saucers have a single dark concentric ring positioned near the outer rim.
No manufacturer’s marks or backstamps are visible on any of the pieces.
