Lot 998: George II Style Burr Walnut Commode
A George II style burr walnut commode of rectangular form. The top is finished with burr walnut veneers, featuring a cross-banded border and a shallow rear gallery. The front configuration consists of a single full-width top drawer above a lower section with two small drawers to the left and a single cupboard door to the right. All drawer and door fronts are veneered in burr walnut and fitted with brass batwing-style escutcheons and drop handles. The piece is supported on four carved hairy paw feet. The drawers are of dovetailed construction. A small, illegible white paper label is attached to the upper left corner of the top surface.
