Lot 199: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1930 Ford Model 'A' Toblerone Van
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1930 Ford Model ‘A’ Toblerone van, featuring a die-cast metal body finished in yellow with a red plastic roof insert. The model is mounted on a brown die-cast chassis with integrated fenders and is equipped with chrome-effect spoked wheels and white-wall tyres. The side panels are decorated with the red Toblerone logo and brown Chocolat Tobler Berne text including the mountain bear graphic. The underside is impressed with Matchbox in a rectangular border, Made In England, Y21 Models of Yesteryear, Ford Model ‘A’, and a copyright date of 1981 Matchbox Int’l Ltd. A small numeral 3 is embossed near the front axle. The vehicle is housed in its original maroon and gold woodgrain style window box which retains a yellow adhesive price sticker reading £3.95 and a white rectangular HCP Auctions lot sticker reading Lot 199.
