Lot 212: A Vintage Lesney Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y2 1911 B Type Bus
A vintage Lesney Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y2 1911 B Type bus. The model is constructed from die-cast metal, finished in red paint with tan-coloured plastic seating to the open upper deck. The body features advertising decals for Dewar’s White Label whisky and Wright’s Coal Tar Soap, with a destination board reading “LOWER COMMON” at the rear stairs. The underside of the chassis is embossed with the characters “B” TYPE BUS, 1912-1920, MADE IN ENGLAND, and BY LESNEY. The vehicle is fitted with black plastic wheels on metal axles. The lot is accompanied by a plain cardboard storage box with a typed identification label reading MATCHBOX YESTERYEAR Y2 1911 (B) TYPE BUS RED BODY LONDON GENERAL BLACK WHEELS.
