Lot 1043: A Vintage White Painted Wrought Metal Ice Cream Parlour Chair
A vintage white painted wrought metal ice cream parlour chair, featuring a decorative high-arched back frame. The frame is constructed from wrought metal tubing, incorporating a circular backrest and seat frame. Both the seat and backrest are fitted with cast composite stone-effect inserts, presenting a textured, granular surface. The backrest is supported by circular scrolls and a V-shaped brace, while the base consists of splayed legs with bent feet. A white adhesive auction label is attached to the backrest insert, printed with the text H&H Auction Rooms South West and Lot 1043. No other manufacturer signatures or maker marks are discernible.

Condition report:
The chair is in a distressed weathered condition. The metal frame exhibits extensive surface rust, oxidation, and flaking white paint throughout, most prominently at the joints and feet (photo 1, 3). The composite inserts show surface weathering and ingrained dirt consistent with outdoor exposure (photo 2). The structural integrity appears sound despite significant surface corrosion.
