Lot 1053: A Mid-Century Modern Teak Extending Dining Table
A mid-century modern extending dining table, characteristic of British furniture design from the 1960s. The table features a rectangular top finished in a warm honey-toned teak veneer, supported by a timber frame with square-section legs. It is designed with a practical draw-leaf extension mechanism, indicated by the visible join lines at the ends of the main tabletop. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the outer edge of the table frame, bearing the printed black characters 101. No manufacturer’s stamps, labels, or signatures are visible.

Condition report:
The table top shows signs of regular use, including scattered light surface scratches, small indentations, and minor areas of finish wear (photo 1). The outer edges show light scuffing and small nicks to the veneer. The extension mechanism appears to be in place, although its operation has not been tested.
