Lot 1057: A Mid-20th Century Hardwood and Glass Display Coffee Table
A mid-20th century hardwood and glass display coffee table, featuring a repurposed antique-style display frame mounted upon a later industrial metal base. The rectangular upper frame is constructed from a reddish-stained hardwood, possibly mahogany, with mitred corners and an inset thick glass top pane. The frame encloses a dark interior base, visible through the glass. The table is supported by a black-painted square-section metal base featuring four straight legs and a central H-frame stretcher for stability. An adhesive auction house label is affixed to the upper right corner of the wooden frame, printed with HCP Auctions South West and Lot 1057. A small white label positioned within the display area and visible through the glass bears the handwritten characters £98 and 863.

Condition report:
The item is in used, as-found condition. The glass top shows significant dust accumulation and numerous surface scratches and scuffs (photo 1). The wooden frame displays general wear including edge scuffs and scratches (photo 1). The black-painted metal base exhibits minor paint loss and wear consistent with use (photo 1). The interior display area appears to have accumulated dust and debris beneath the glass.
