Lot 1058: A Vintage Hardwood Artists Floor-Standing Tripod Easel
A vintage hardwood artists floor-standing tripod easel, constructed from a stained wood, likely beech, designed for studio or field use. The easel features a central vertical mast with an adjustable lower canvas ledge and a sliding upper clamp, both of which are secured by metal wing-nut fasteners to accommodate various canvas sizes. The structure is supported by a stable three-legged tripod base. The wooden surfaces exhibit an extensive multi-coloured paint patina with splatters of white, yellow, blue, red, and green accumulated through studio use. No other maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures are legible on the wooden frame or metal components.

Condition report:
The easel is in a heavily used condition characteristic of a working studio piece. The wooden frame shows extensive multi-coloured dried paint splatters across all surfaces (photo 1).
