Lot 1066: A Pair of Vintage Bamboo and Rattan Conservatory Armchairs
A pair of vintage bamboo and rattan conservatory armchairs from the late 20th century. Each chair features a bent bamboo frame with a triple-pole armrest design and a glossy honey-toned lacquered finish. The side panels are filled with open-weave rattan lattice-work, and the joints are reinforced with decorative cane bindings. The chairs are fitted with removable two-piece cushion sets, consisting of a square seat and a tall jointed backrest, upholstered in a textured beige fabric with an abstract geometric pattern in terracotta red and muted purple. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the right armrest of one chair, bearing the printed number 1066 and further illegible text above; no manufacturer marks or safety labels are present.

Condition report:
The bamboo frames show general surface wear and scuffing to the lacquer finish, particularly around the feet and the ends of the armrests (photo 1). The rattan lattice-work panels appear to be in good order with no visible breaks. The upholstery is clean, although the internal cushion filling shows signs of compression and a loss of original loft (photo 1).
