Lot 1082: A Vintage Aldis Square 50 Metal and Fabric Tripod Projection Screen
A vintage American-made Aldis Square 50 metal and fabric tripod projection screen, dating from the mid-20th century. The unit features a cylindrical metal housing with a matte grey painted finish, mounted to an integrated folding tripod stand constructed from silver-tone tubular metal with black rubber-tipped feet. The projection surface consists of a textured white reflective fabric, which retracts into the casing via a spring-loaded mechanism. The reverse of the screen is finished with a textured black coating. A black adhesive label is affixed to the casing, bearing the printed white text ALDIS and SQUARE / 50, with the smaller text MADE IN U.S.A. inverted above. A white rectangular inventory sticker marked with the number 1082 is also present on the casing. The top of the screen is fitted with a metal pull bar and a central carrying handle.

Condition report:
The exterior metal casing shows general surface wear including scuffs and scratches (photo 1). The white projection surface exhibits scattered brown spotting and light discoloration (photo 2). The textured black backing shows significant white mottling and spotting across the surface, possibly indicating dust accumulation or mildew from past damp storage (photo 3). The tripod folding mechanism and height adjustment appear functional, and the screen deploys and retracts correctly.
