Lot 1105: A Mid-Century Teak Wall Shelving and Storage Unit
A mid-century teak wall shelving and storage unit of modular construction. The upper section features a series of vertical dividers designed for record or document storage, alongside an open shelving compartment with pre-drilled adjustment holes for shelving pins. To the right, the unit incorporates three vertically aligned drawers, each fitted with recessed sculpted wooden handles. Below the open shelving is a double-door cupboard section featuring matching recessed handles. The unit is constructed from teak and teak veneers with a warm, natural grain. A small white rectangular paper label is affixed to the left exterior side panel; the text on this label is entirely illegible due to surface wear and fading. No further maker’s marks, stamps, or labels were observed during inspection.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
Condition report:
The unit is in a heavily used and unrestored condition. Significant white paint splatters and droplets are visible across the fronts of the drawers and both cupboard doors (photo 1). The wood finish displays general wear throughout, including scuffs, scratches, and ground-in grime, particularly prominent along the side panels and edges (photo 1). The internal adjustable shelves for the open sections are missing, although the support holes remain intact.
