Lot 1111: A Vintage Bramhall Woodware Wooden Bagatelle Board
A vintage wooden bagatelle board manufactured by Bramhall Woodware of Sheffield. This tabletop game features a dark-stained wooden construction with an arched top and a dedicated ball-launching channel running along the right-hand side. The playing surface is populated with numerous upright metal pins arranged to create specific scoring pockets and obstacles. Numerical scoring values ranging from 5 to 150 are printed directly onto the board in gold-toned ink. The manufacturer’s mark is printed in gold on the lower right of the playing surface, reading BRAMHALL WOODWARE above SHEFFIELD • ENGLAND, accompanied by a stylized logo. A white adhesive auction lot label for lot 1111 is attached to the lower right of the frame.
Condition report:
The item is in as found uncleaned condition with a heavy accumulation of dust, dirt, and cobwebs across the entire surface and frame (photo 1). All metal pins and the channel rail exhibit significant oxidation and heavy rust (photo 2). The woodwork shows various surface scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish wear consistent with age and long-term storage (photo 1). The board is offered without balls or launching accessories.
