Lot 1139: A Trio of Vintage Framed Artworks including Enid Tappenden 'The conference' (Signed)
A trio of vintage framed artworks including a signed Enid Tappenden print titled ‘The conference’, a marshland landscape painting, and a domestic humor print. The wildlife print, titled ‘The conference’ in handwritten script to the lower centre margin, depicts three puffins and is signed Enid Tappenden in the lower right margin. The work also features a small printed mark reading Sky in the upper right corner of the image and is housed in a black wooden frame with a wide white mount. The landscape painting on board depicts silhouetted birds flying over a marsh at twilight, presented in a wide, tiered light-wood frame. The third item is a domestic color print featuring humorous kitchen signs regarding motherhood, set within a narrow dark-wood frame. A white adhesive inventory label reading 1139 is attached to the upper frame rail of the humor print.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. Surface dust and minor scuffing are present on all frames (photo 1). The landscape frame shows light wear to the outer edges and corners (photo 2). The prints and painting appear well-preserved with no visible foxing, tears, or significant fading (photos 3 and 4).
