Lot 298: A Vintage Large Woven Rattan Storage Basket and Signed Football
A vintage large woven rattan storage basket and signed football, containing an assortment of industrial and personal items. The circular basket is constructed from thick, rounded weavers, likely willow or rattan, featuring a greyish-wash finish and two integrated handles at the rim. The contents include an industrial safety face shield with a yellow plastic headpiece and a clear wrap-around visor, which bears a pink adhesive label with the handwritten number 46686. Also included is a black hard-sided attaché case featuring a central vertical green and red stripe and two brass-toned flip-latches. The football is a deflated blue and white panelled example bearing a printed crest of a cockerel on a ball with the text TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR, and is covered in numerous handwritten signatures in black ink, though specific names are not clearly legible. A small white label marked Lot 300 is attached to a blue plastic handle within the basket.
