Lot 379: A Mid-Century Smith Sectric Bakelite Mantel Clock and Household Sundries
A mid-century Smith Sectric Bakelite mantel clock and household sundries, presented in a green plastic crate. The clock features a dark brown Bakelite case of stepped octagonal form with a glazed brass-toned bezel. The cream-coloured dial is printed with a chapter ring of black Roman numerals, set with black metal spade and baton hands. The centre of the dial bears the printed mark SMITH above SECTRIC, and the base is marked MADE IN ENGLAND. It is fitted with an integrated ribbed white power cord and a vintage two-pin plug. The lot further includes a rectangular turquoise and white stoneware baking dish, a circular blue ceramic lid, and a cream-coloured jug with hand-painted grape and vine leaf motifs. An assortment of clear glassware is provided, including wine glasses, tumblers, and flutes, alongside two soiled cream-coloured pillar candles.
