Lot 524: A Mid-Century Glazed Ceramic Prowling Big Cat Figurine
A Mid-Century glazed ceramic prowling big cat figurine, stylised in a low, crouching pose. The figurine is finished in a high-gloss, multi-tonal drip glaze featuring blended shades of forest green and dark chocolate brown, a decorative technique characteristic of mid-20th-century studio pottery. The form captures the cat with its head lowered and tail curled upward. The underside of the paws and base appear as unglazed earthenware. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or incised signatures are visible on the object. A partial white adhesive label is present on the wooden display surface in the background but is not attached to the figurine itself.
