Lot 525: A Vintage Soviet Porcelain Figurine of a Seated Woman
A vintage Soviet porcelain figurine depicting a seated woman in a stylised Eastern or Orientalised pose. The figure is modeled in a reclining, cross-legged position, wearing a flowing white robe decorated with hand-painted pale blue leaves and gilded branch motifs. She features minimalist facial details including closed eyes and red lips, surmounted by a yellow and light blue headpiece. The piece is finished in a smooth white glaze with polychrome and gilt highlights throughout. The underside of the base features two blue underglaze stamps: a circular mark depicting a falcon with surrounding Cyrillic characters that are not clearly legible, and a separate printed stamp reading MADE IN USSR. A standard circular firing vent is located in the centre of the base.
